Oak Tree Minerals is a successful oil and gas mineral / royalty firm whose business model is to identify, acquire, manage and divest energy royalty assets. Located in Frisco, Texas, Oak Tree's focus in the last 11 years has been on acquiring producing domestic energy royalty interests for our various partnerships, family offices and now individuals. Through years of hard work, we have developed the infrastructure to create outstanding royalty portfolios for these groups but have now adapted that to accommodate individuals outside of these structures. With the scale we have developed, we can manage the transactions inexpensively throughout the entire process and cut out middlemen and brokers who dilute investor returns. Basically, buy these legacy assets and transition them to investors at relatively the same price as industry buyers have enjoyed for years.

Dirk Todd
Mr. Todd is a founding partner of Oak Tree Minerals, LLC and has been involved in royalty investing since 2005. One of his primary responsibilities at Oak Tree is creating and managing royalty portfolios for the various partnerships, entities, and individuals that Oak Tree works with. Through this experience, Dirk was integral in creating the Personal Portfolio Program available for individual investors.
He is also one of the preeminent authorities on 1031 exchange strategies utilizing energy royalty and mineral interests and has authored two books on the subject. In his latest book, The 1031 Solution, Dirk shed light on the issue of using energy royalties for a 1031 exchange
Dirk grew up in the Central Texas town of Brownwood and earned a Bachelor of Business degree while attending the University of Texas at Austin and Ohio University. While in college, he played Division 1 golf and was selected captain for his senior year. He holds an MBA from Ohio State University and served for three years on the Wisconsin State Advisory Board for the Department of Financial Institutions where he was appointed by Governor Jim Doyle.
Robby Barnes
Mr. Barnes is a founding partner of Oak Tree Minerals, LLC and has been involved in royalty investing since 2002. Robby oversees the company’s mineral acquisitions.
Mr. Barnes has extensive experience in both royalties and alternative investments. He has been involved in the acquisition and divestiture of more than twenty private royalty offerings, which have raised in excess of $400 million.
A fifth generation Texan and son of a petroleum engineer, Mr. Barnes was introduced to the oil and gas industry at an early age and purchased his first royalty deal in 2002. He grew up in Plano, Texas and attended Texas Tech University. He now lives in Frisco, Texas with his wife and two sons.
